Donations, legacies, appeals

The church continues to be the magnificent centrepiece of the village, but this comes at a considerable cost in terms of maintenance of the building and the large churchyard, both in terms of funding and volunteer labour. It costs £1,000 per week just to cover basic running expenses

We were fortunate to receive a large bequest a few years ago, which enabled us to totally refurbish the organ and surrounds, but we have many other projects both inside and outside the church, which will require further funding.

All donations and legacies are therefore very welcome, in addition to which we are always looking for volunteers to help with essential maintenance.

This is not restricted to regular churchgoers, so why not give it a try on one of our regular Saturday churchyard clearance working parties? Basic safeguarding training will be provided.

How you can help

Giving a little extra each week, or making a one off donation, would help enormously. There are several ways to do this:

  • Completing a Parish Giving form and returning it to a member of the PCC
  • Making a standing order through your bank. Our banking details are:
    Hampton Lucy Parochial Church Council
    Sort code 20-48-08  Acc. 70791571
  • Using the card machine inside the church.
  • Putting a donation on the collection plate on a Sunday morning, using the yellow envelopes if you are a UK taxpayer so we can claim the Gift Aid.
  • Giving by cheque.

If you would like to discuss your giving with our treasurer please feel free to email Richard Martin on: [email protected]

Even if you are not a regular member of our congregation, if you appreciate the work we do at St. Peter’s please help us to pay our bills. We receive no money from the Church of England or from the Government to help us maintain our beautiful buildings. With thanks from all members of the PCC.
